* Lake Clifton/Herron, Cookernup, Harvey and Waroona residents can now return to their properties through vehicle control points. It is not safe for people in Preston Beach to leave until final clearance of the road has been undertaken.
Residents who intent to re-enter the area are taking responsibility for their own safety. Impacted areas have not been fully assess and the following risks may exist, the list is not exhaustive:
o Falling/fallen trees/branches
o Hot spots
o Wandering livestock
o Western Power Infrastructure
o Emergency crews operating in the area
o Unstable/burnt structures
A bushfire ADVICE has been issued for the localities of Preston Beach, Lake Clifton, Waroona, Hamel, Wagerup, Yarloop, Cookernup, Harvey, Wokalup, Binningup, Myalup and surrounding areas in the Shires of Harvey and Waroona.
The fire is contained, except for the south east corner, but not yet controlled.
WHAT TO DO:
Forrest Highway (both directions) from Pinjarra Road to Myalup Beach Road is now open to traffic at a reduced speed of 80 km/hr.
Motorists are asked to avoid non-essential travel through the area. If you must travel please ensure your petrol tank is full before you depart.
Road users are urged to drive with caution as stray livestock and emergency service vehicles may be in the area.
