bushfire EMERGENCY WARNING has been issued for people in the suburb of Wilson
Park bounded by Bickerton St, Delahunty St, Mungalup Rd and Kingsford
and Hoskin streets in the south-western part of Collie in the Shire of
· The alert level for this
fire has been upgraded.
· Homes in Bickerton St, Porter St, Delahunty St, Riley St, Telfer
Crescent and Vessel C rescent will be under threat between 1-2
· You are in danger and need to act immediately to survive. There is
a threat to lives and homes.
· The fire started in
Minninup Pool Shire Reserve and is burning in Westralia Conservation Park.
· The bushfire is moving
fast in a westerly direction at 350m per hour.
· It is out of control and
· Burning embers are likely
to be blown around your home. Spot fires are starting ahead of the fire.
· Your safest option may be
to visit family or friends who live away from the area.
· If you live in the area
the safest route is in a northerly direction.
OF LAST RESORT:
· If you cannot leave look
for a safer place ie local open space, shed, swimming pool, dam or building
where you may go to seek shelter from a bushfire.
· This will give you some
protection from the effects of a bushfire.
· Take water, woollen
blankets and wear protective clothing.
Avoid the area and be aware of fire and other
emergency services personnel working on site.
A number of roads have been closed including:
Mungalup Road is closed from the north of the
golf club entrance in the north to Siding Road in the south.

Bibbulmun Track is closed between Siding Road and Collie Coalfields Highway.
