ALERT LEVEL:A bushfire ADVICE has been issued for people north of Julimar Road between Kane Road and Dreyer Road and south of Julimar Road near Harders Chitty Road. The fire started near Juilmar Road and Kane Road. Although there is no immediate danger you need to be aware and keep up to date. WHAT TO DO:• Stay alert and monitor your surroundings.• Watch for signs of a bushfire, especially smoke and flames.• Check the Fire Danger Rating for your area to help you decide what to do www.dfes.wa.gov.au/firedangerratings.• Read through your bushfire survival plan. • If you do not have a plan decide what you will do if the situation gets worse.
ROAD CLOSURES:Julimar Road at the intersections of Toodyay West Road and Dreyer Road. Motorists should avoid the area and be aware of fire and other emergency services personnel working on site. For further details contact the Shire of Toodyay. BUSHFIRE BEHAVIOUR:The bushfire is moving slowly. The fire is contained but not controlled. WHAT FIREFIGHTERS ARE DOING:One hundred career Fire and Rescue Service and Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service, Bush Fire Service and Shire of Toodyay firefighters in more than 15 appliances are on the scene. They are being assisted by WA Police and private land owners. One helitac and two fixed wing water bombers have been sent to assist ground crews. The incident was reported at 10.22am today. Approximately 30 hectares have been burnt. CAUSE:The cause of the fire is unknown. AGENCY RESPONSIBLE:DFES is managing the fire.
