ALERT LEVEL:A bushfire ADVICE remains for people north of Julimar Road between Kane Road and Dreyer Road and south of Julimar Road near Harders Chitty Road in West Toodyay in the Shire of Toodyay. The fire started near Julimar Road and Kane Road. There is no threat to lives or homes. Although there is no immediate danger you need to be aware and keep up to date in case the situation changes. WHAT TO DO: • Stay alert and monitor your surroundings.• Watch for signs of a bushfire, especially smoke and flames.• Close all doors and windows, and turn off evaporative air conditioners but keep water running through the system if possible.• Read through your bushfire survival plan. • If you do not have a plan decide what you will do if the situation gets worse. ROAD CLOSURES:Julimar Road is no longer closed. No other roads are closed. Motorists should avoid the area and be aware of fire and other emergency services personnel working on site. For further details contact the Shire of Toodyay. BUSHFIRE BEHAVIOUR:The bushfire is moving slowly. It is a contained and under control. WHAT FIREFIGHTERS ARE DOING:Thirty volunteer Bush Fire Service and Shire of Toodyay firefighters are on the scene mopping up and strengthening containment lines. They will monitor the scene overnight. One helitac and two fixed wing water bombers sent to assist ground crews today have been released and are no longer required. The incident was reported at 10.22am today. Approximately 30 hectares have been burnt.
