The following information has been issued by the Department of Environment and Conservation
ALERT LEVEL: A bushfire ADVICE has been issued for the west side of Kennedy Range National Park, 60km north-west of Gascoyne Junction. The fire is burning in bushland in a south-westerly direction. DEC is working closely with neighbouring landowners who have been notified of the fire. There is no threat to lives or homes. Although there is no immediate danger you need to be aware and keep up to date. WHAT TO DO: • Be extremely careful when driving through the area. ROAD CLOSURES: No roads are closed. RECREATION SITE CLOSURES: No recreation sites are closed. BUSHFIRE BEHAVIOUR: The bushfire is moving in a south-westerly direction. WHAT FIREFIGHTERS ARE DOING: DEC is monitoring the fire through aerial surveillance. CAUSE: The cause of the fire is unknown. AGENCY RESPONSIBLE: The Department of Environment and Conservation is managing the fire. KEEP UP TO DATE: Visit www.dec.wa.gov.au, www.dfes.wa.gov.au, call 1300 657 209 or listen to news bulletins. The next update will be provided by 11am tomorrow (Sunday 10 February) unless the situation changes.
