ALERT LEVEL: A bushfire WATCH AND ACT remains in place for people south of Hay Road, west of South Western Highway, north of Forrest Park Avenue, west of Maranup Ford Road, north of the Dalgarup plantation and east of Wetherley Road and south of the Nannup-Balingup Road in the Shires of Donnybrook-Balingup, Bridgetown-Greenbushes and Nannup. There is a possible threat to lives and homes as a fire is approaching the area and conditions are changing. You need to leave or get ready to actively defend. WHAT TO DO: • Put your bushfire survival plan into action.• If you are not prepared or you plan to leave, leave now if the way is clear. • If you are well prepared and plan to actively defend your home, make final preparations now. • Do not rely on mains water pressure as it may be affected. However, if you have access to a water tank and plan to stay and defend start patrolling around your house and check for spot fires. • If you are not at home, it is too dangerous now to return.• People in the Shire of Bridgetown-Greenbushes that decide to leave are to place a green bag on their mail box or gate to advise firefighters that they have left.
COMMUNITY MEETINGS: A community meeting will be held at the Balingup Recreation Centre at 1pm today. Meetings were also held at the Bridgetown Recreation Centre and Greenbushes Hall earlier this morning.
