ALERT LEVEL:
An ALL CLEAR advice has been issued for people west of Martin Pelusey Road, north of Harris Road and south of South Western Highway in the eastern part of Picton in the Shire of Dardanup.
The bushfire that started near Kerr Road and Harris Road is now contained.
The danger has passed but you need to remain vigilant in case the situation changes.
WHAT TO DO:
• Drive slowly and with caution due to smoke and emergency services personnel working in the area.
ROAD CLOSURES:
All roads are open.
WHAT FIREFIGHTERS ARE DOING:
Around 25 career Fire and Rescue Service, Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service and Bush Fire Service firefighters in 10 appliances have been busy since the fire was reported at 10.45am yesterday 6 March working to contain and control the fire.
They were supported by one fixed wing water bomber.
Firefighters are currently blacking out and will leave the area safe for the rest of the day.
The number of hectares burnt has been revised to 20.
Railway sleepers and fencing were damaged in the fire.
CAUSE:
The cause of the incident is a car that caught on fire in scrub.
