The Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) provides emergency services for a range of natural disasters and emergencies throughout Western Australia (WA) to protect lives and property.
Fleets of fit for purpose, reliable and specialised equipment, appliances, marine rescue vessels, rotary wing and fixed-wing aircraft are all vital resources that enhance DFES’s capability to respond to emergencies on land, sea and air.
Throughout WA’s volatile bushfire season DFES may call on local government and the Department of Parks and Wildlife (DPAW) to request deployment of additional resources.
DFES often calls on DPAW’s fixed-wing water bombers during significant bushfire incidents to help strengthen its aircraft fleet.
