A bushfire WATCH AND ACT message has been issued for people in the area near Sydney Road, Leach Way, Gnangara Road and Becher Way in Landsdale.
There are no lives or homes threatened by the fire. Although there is no immediate danger you need to keep up to date in case the situation changes.
People living in the area need to be aware of fire and other emergency services personnel working on site and take their advice.
The bushfire is now contained. Fire crews are working to strengthen containment lines and will monitor the area for the rest of the night.
FESA was alerted to the fire at 11.54am and currently there has been 45 hectares burnt.
WHAT FIREFIGHTERS ARE DOING:
40 firefighters from seven Fire and Rescue Service stations and three Bush Fire Brigades are on the scene.
Personnel from WA Police are working with FESA, DEC and the City of Wanneroo.
A number of roads have been closed including the intersection between Alexander Drive and Gnangara Road, Sydney Road and Gnangara Road, Prestige Parade and Gnangara Road and Sydney Road and Tuscan Way and motorists should avoid the area.
