Bushfire ADVICE for the area near Gnangara Road, Landsdale
A bushfire ADVICE has been issued for people near Sydney Road, Leach Way, Gnangara Road and Becher Way in Landsdale.
There are no lives or homes threatened by the fire. Although there is no immediate danger you need to keep up to date in case the situation changes.
WHAT TO DO:
People living in the area need to be alert and watch for signs of fire.
· Close all doors and windows
· Turn off evaporative air conditioners but keep water running through the system if possible
People living in the area need to be aware of fire and other emergency services personnel working on site and take their advice.
The bushfire is now contained and under control.
The incident was reported at 12pm today and approximately 45 hectares has been burnt.
WHAT FIREFIGHTERS ARE DOING:
Forty firefighters from seven Fire and Rescue Service stations, three Bush Fire Brigades crews and DEC firefighters are working to strengthen containment lines and will monitor the area for the rest of the night.
Personnel from WA Police and the City of Wanneroo are working with FESA.
- Sydney Road remains closed at Gnangara Road and Tuscan Way.
- Gnangara road has been reopened with reduced speed controls in place.
Motorists should avoid the area. Further clarification should be sought from WA Police or Main Roads WA on 138 138.
FESA is managing the fire.
