Update: Total Fire Ban for the Shire of Lake Grace remains with the ban revoked for the Shires of Esperance and Ravensthorpe

A Total Fire Ban been declared for the Shire of Lake Grace remains with the ban lifted for the Shires of Ravensthorpe and Esperance for Monday 14 December 2009. 

 

The Total Fire Ban comes into effect from 12 midnight tonight until 12 midnight tomorrow night. It means that any activity that could start a fire is banned.

If you live in the Shire of Lake Grace:

·      you must not move vehicles or equipment  across a paddock

·      you must not harvest

·      you must not cook outside using an open fire

·      ‘hot work’ such as metal work, grinding or the like is not allowed unless you have an exemption

 

You could be fined up to $25,000 or jailed for 12 months or both if you ignore the Total Fire Ban.
