An ALL CLEAR advice has been issued for the bushfire in Success Hill Reserve, Bassendean which is now being held within containment lines. People in the area should however remain vigilant in case the situation changes.
WHAT FIREFIGHTERS ARE DOING:
Crews will remain at the scene for several more hours. They are currently mopping up the bushfire and will leave the area safe.
WHAT TO DO:
Motorists in the area should take care as there may still be some smoke across roads. Also keep a watch for fire and other emergency services personnel who are continuing their work.
Forty career and volunteer Fire and Rescue Service crews in 11 fire appliances, together with firefighters from the Department of Environment and Conservation and Whiteman Park, have been busy at the bushfire which was reported to FESA at 3.18pm today.
They were supported by three water bombing helitacs operating from the air, including the large Type 1 helicopter.
It is estimated that 10 hectares has been burnt.
The cause of the fire is not known. People are asked to report any suspicious behaviour to Police Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
