Bushfire under control in Beaconsfield
Wednesday 11 November 2009 – 10:10 AM

The bushfire burning in Beaconsfield is now being held within containment lines.

To prevent the fire escaping crews are working to strengthen containment lines and will leave the area safe.

Career Fire and Rescue Service firefighters from Canning Vale and Fremantle have been busy from 3.40pm protecting lives and homes.

It is estimated less than a hectare was burnt.

Firefighters have worked hard to get the fire under control.

Motorists in the area should take extreme caution when driving through smoke and low visibility and be aware of emergency services personnel who are continuing their work.

If you have a respiratory condition you should contact your local doctor or call Health Direct on 1800 022 222.

No further media statements will be issued.
