The bushfire burning in Gidgegannup is now under control.
To prevent the fire escaping crews are working to strengthen containment lines and will monitor the area for the rest of the night.
Fire and Rescue Service and volunteer Bush Fire Brigade crews have been busy from 11am protecting lives and homes.
It is estimated 30 hectares were burnt. Firefighters have worked hard to get the fire under control and have saved a shed, however some fencing has been destroyed.
The City of Swan is managing the fire with assistance from FESA WA Police.
A number of roads are closed including Toodyay Road between Reen Road and the Springs Road. Reen Road and The Springs Road are also closed and are expected to remain closed until 6pm tonight.
Motorists in the area should take extreme caution when driving through smoke and low visibility and be aware of emergency services personnel who are continuing their work.
