Bushfire ALL CLEAR for Wanneroo (Mariginup)
Tuesday 5 January 2010 – 3:35 PM

ALERT LEVEL:

A bushfire ALL CLEAR advice has been issued for people in Wanneroo. The bushfire that started near Honey Street and Caporn Street is being held within containment lines and is now under control. People should remain vigilant in case the situation changes.

 

WHAT FIREFIGHTERS ARE DOING:

Crews are currently mopping up and will leave the area safe.

 

WHAT TO DO:

It is now safe for people to return home.

 

ROAD CLOSURES:

There are no roads closed.

 

When driving in the area motorists should take extreme caution as there may still be smoke across some roads and fire and other emergency services personnel who are continuing their work.

INCIDENT INFORMATION:

22 Fire and Rescue Service and volunteer Bush Fire Brigade crews have been busy since 3.05pm protecting lives and homes.

 

They were supported by two helitacs operating from the air.

 

It is estimated 15 hectares were burnt.

 

No further media statements will be issued.
