An ALL CLEAR advice has been issued for people in or near Hammond Road and Beeliar Drive on the border of Success and Beeliar.
The bushfire in Beeliar Regional Park is now being held within containment lines and is under control.
WHAT TO DO:
People should remain vigilant in case the situation changes.
WHAT FIREFIGHTERS ARE DOING:
Crews are working to strengthen containment lines and will continue to monitor the area well into tomorrow.
Flare ups may occur within the perimeter of the fire but are within the patrolled boundary lines. Embers may drift from the fire but firefighters are on hand to put them out.
Smoke has cleared considerably from the area.
Power was earlier shut down in the area around Branch Circus and Wonnil Close due to a burnt power pole.
FESA was alerted to the fire at 4.11pm. Approximately 25 hectares was burnt out. No homes have been damaged.
The fire was deliberately lit and people are asked to report any suspicious behaviour to Police Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Beeliar Drive has been reopened.
But Hammond Road is closed from Beeliar Drive to Hird Road (Success) tonight due to the large number of emergency personnel working in the area.
There are no other roads closed. But motorists should avoid the area.
Further clarification should be sought from WA Police or Main Roads WA on 138 138.
FESA is managing the fire.
