A bushfire ALL CLEAR ADVICE has been issued for people in Calista near the Kwinana Golf Club for a fire that started in an island in the middle of a pond at the Golf Course.
This includes people between Westbrook Street, Summerton Road, Calista Avenue and Wellard Road.
There are no lives or homes threatened by the fire.
WHAT TO DO:
People living in the area need to be vigilant for signs of fire in case the situation changes.
People living in the area need to be aware of fire and other emergency services personnel working on site and take their advice.
There is still some smoke in the area.
The bushfire was burning paperbark trees on an island in the middle of a pond.
A wind change is expected tonight but fire crews will monitor the scene during the night.
Approximately three hectares was burnt.
WHAT FIREFIGHTERS ARE DOING:
Thirty volunteer Fire and Rescue Service and Bush Fire Service crews worked on the fire.
Remaining crews are mopping up.
The incident was reported at 4.48pm today.
No roads are closed but motorists are asked to avoid the area, reduce speed and drive carefully due to smoke.
Further clarification should be sought from WA Police or Main Roads WA on 138 138.
FESA is managing the fire.
