Yallingup Coastal Bush Fire Brigade resources bolstered with new pumps
Tuesday 5 July 2011 – 12:10 PM

Yallingup Coastal Bush Fire Brigade is now better equipped to fight fires after receiving a new $103,000 Light Tanker appliance that enhances the crew’s capabilities to respond to emergencies.
Capes Region District Manager Danny Mosconi said that the new pump has an increased capacity and uses water more efficiently.
“The old Yallingup Coastal appliance was nearing the end of service life,” Mr Mosconi said.
“The new pump has the latest firefighting equipment for the Yallingup crew.
“The new light tanker can pump 180 litres of water per minute which is a significant improvement over its predecessor.
“This appliance also has many safety features that will make responding to emergencies safer with the increased braking and handling capabilities not available when the old appliance was built.”
The replacement of the old vehicle is thanks to FESA’s Emergency Services Levy.
Despite the recent drop in temperatures as winter begins bushfires can still occur and people are reminded to make sure they are bushfire ready.
