Firefighters and Police battle it out for a good cause
Police officers and firefighters will battle it out on the football field tonight in an epic showdown all in the name of a good cause.
WA Police and the WA Fire and Rescue Service will participate in a bit of rough and tumble at Medibank Stadium to raise money for the Ryan Marron Foundation.
FESA’s Director Operational Effectiveness and event organiser Rob Forster said the annual football match was a great way to show some healthy rivalry between police officers and firefighters and a good opportunity to show support to deserving charities.
“It’s important for firefighters and police officers to get the opportunity to spend time together without being in an emergency situation,” Superintendent Forster said.
“This will be the fifth year of the cup and the guys have come together again for a good cause.”
Bounce down is at 7.30pm and entry is a gold coin donation. There will also be a range of raffle prizes on offer including signed West Coast Eagles memorabilia, hotel stays and car
The Ryan Marron Foundation was established to support police officer Ryan Marron who contracted Murray Valley Encephalitis while stationed at Halls Creek.
