The bushfire burning near South Yunderup is now under control.
Crews are currently mopping up and will leave the area safe when they depart tonight.
Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade and Fire and Rescue Service crews have been busy from just after 12.30pm today protecting lives and homes.
It is estimated 120 hectares were burnt.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
The Shire of Murray is managing the fire with assistance from FESA and WA Police.
A number of roads are closed including Beacham Road from the Curtis Rd junction and Greenlands Road between Edges Road and Fauntleroy Road.
Further clarification on road closures should be sought from WA Police or Main Roads WA on 138 138.
Motorists in the should take extreme caution when driving through smoke with headlights on where there is low visibility.
