The 2017 WA Fire and Emergency Services Conference took over the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre from Friday 8 to Sunday 10 September.
Themed around changing lives, the seventh annual conference offered a diverse array of speakers including the Director General of Emergency Management Australia Mark Crosweller AFSM, who spoke about the inevitability of catastrophe.
The jam packed program also included facility tours, workshops, demonstrations, and an exhibition hall filled with interactive booths and the latest in appliance technology, including the RAC Rescue experience.
As always, the Volunteer Marine Rescue Service, State Emergency Service and Firefighting award ceremonies were a highlight of the weekend, celebrating the outstanding efforts of dedicated firefighters and emergency service volunteers in protecting Western Australian communities.
Designed in partnership with the volunteer services, the conference attracted over 700 delegates and provided volunteers with an opportunity to enhance their knowledge and skills, as well as network with their peers from across the State.
