Aboriginal Firefighter Cadetship

DFES is conducting a new fully paid training program for Aboriginal people.

The Aboriginal Firefighter Cadetship provides an opportunity for Aboriginal people to get paid while developing new skills, getting fit and preparing for the possibility of a lifetime career as a firefighter.

We will help the participants in every way possible to get into the Academy and achieve all the requirements to become a firefighter.

Participants will be personally guided and supported by mentors, a personal trainer will help them reach their peak fitness and qualified assessors will support them to achieve a nationally accredited qualification.

It gives them the opportunity to get ready and be confident to apply to become a firefighter.

Applications are now closed and the cadetship will begin on 5 January 2015 for one year.

If you are an Aboriginal person and would like more information about becoming a firefighter, please click here to register your interest.
