How is a ban declared?

Total Fire Bans (TFBs) are declared by DFES based on weather conditions and firefighting capability.

TFBs are declared using the whole local government boundary.

A TFB is a prevention measure to warn you of a day of predicted adverse fire weather.

On these days you should be particularly careful not to engage in activities which may cause a fire to start.
